Julia Spiegel’s public biographies put a think-tank tour before the degrees. The Just Security author page, written in her name, says: “Before graduate school, Julia researched armed conflict in eastern Africa for the Center for American Progress and the International Crisis Group.” Stanford’s instructor biography and later GovAct and Haas Center pages repeat the Africa research line. Those are her shops’ sentences. They are not a court finding.
Center for American Progress is a progressive policy organization. International Crisis Group is a conflict-analysis NGO. The bios do not publish a start date, an end date, or a job title more precise than research. This site does not invent one.
